Hi, I have got a NextBase dashcam for my 61 reg C4 and also got the hardwire bits that piggyback onto a fuse to operate the unit when the igntion is on.

Do i link it to a fuse in the engine bay or one inside the car (if there are any suitable ones in the cabin that is) and if so which one please?

You can use the OBD II socket this is a always on connection you can also buy a OBD II to usb lead some also have a switch with you can turn the power on or off ( I have a NextBase 512 in the front and a nextbase in the rear window)

I used the internal fuse box and used a fuse that becomes live when ignition is on, something like heated rear window should be ok.

Brill Ham, but how the heck did you find the fuse to piggyback with? There seem to be too many wires in the way
