I finally took collection of my brand new C4GP this morning. I'll post some photos when it isn't raining and gloomy.

After someone wrote off my previous C4GP, we needed a new car PDQ. To make things worse, Citroen isn't making new 2L diesel engines anytime soon! The only way to get the pack that I wanted in a timescale that I could manage, was to buy an existing new C4GP with pretty much all the "packs" included. Citroen wouldn't even quote the lead time on a factory order!

C4GP, Platinum Grey, Flair, 1997cc, BlueHDi 150 S&S EAT6 Auto.

(1) Driver assistance pack 4 - Active radar guided cruise control with stop function, Active Safety Brake, Active lane departure warning system, Active blind spot monitoring system, Speed limit recognition system, Driver attention alert system, Intelligent beam headlights, Electro chrome rear view mirror.
(2) Xenon headlights + foglights
(3) 360 Park Assist (aka Vision 360).
(4) Detachable tow bar.

I've driven 30 miles down the M1 and 15 miles across country roads. My very initial thoughts are...

(1) Nice to have the glass roof - the car isn't as gloomy as my old C4GP.
(2) The automatic gearbox is much smoother. No more jerkyness from my old C4GP.
(3) A nice powerful, responsive engine. On a steep M1 slip road, I put my foot down and easily managed to get up to speed in a matter of seconds.
(4) My kids love the extra 100mm leg space in the middle row.
(5) MirrorScreen and AndroidAuto work well with GoogleMaps and Waze. Will try other apps later.
Cameras - reversing and 360 park assist pictures are grainy as mentioned in various reviews. However, the cameras have small fisheye lenses, and the car has to reconstitute the images accordingly. In my opinion, it produces adequate to good pictures. I was dubious about the 360 Park Assist, however I think it's almost worth the money.
(7) Active cruise control - wonderful! Set your max speed, and then off you go. The car will slow accordingly when the car in front slows too.
(8) Active safety brake - it didn't really want to test this however some idiot did a last minute three lane change in front of me. The safety brake engaged when I only had my foot over the brake. Basically, it was faster than me!
(9) The tow bar kit comes in a bag in the boot and has a strange rectangular plastic clip in addition to the bar. Not worked out what it's for yet. I looks like a cover for something.
(10) I miss the electric positioning leather seats of my old C4GP, however Citroen's idea of style is very different to mine! Also at £2K+ I wasn't willing to go that far this time.

Don't rely on this! It works well over ~50mph, as long as you are not approaching the car in front too quickly. I is very poor at slowing the car at speeds much below 50mph.

Oh obviously! These extras are there as a driving assistance and not "instead of".

Technically with active lane departure and active cruise control you could just about do hand and foot free driving. I'm not going to test that one though.

That's an interesting point about speeds below 50mph, however I'm not too surprised to be honest. On the way to work on Monday I'll try it on long winding country roads. That'll probably test it to it's limits.

If your Citroen has the latest active cruise system it applies the brakes not just relying on engine braking, which the previous C4GP had.

I have the same active cruise system fitted to my new Peugeot 3008 and compared to my old C4GP radar cruise it works brilliantly. Even braking to a stop and automatically applying the electric handbrake, ready to move off again!

Nottingham is "speed-camera-central". The M1 around it is similar with averaging cameras everywhere. I had cruise control set to 50mph, and could feel the active breaking as it slowed. It didn't actively change below 30mph though, but it was interesting to experience it working.

I didn't realise the system will apply the handbreak!

Sounds like a worthwhile improvement! I can't wait to try it!

My Passat has Active Cruise Control, it works exceptionally well to be honest although being a manual it will tell me the 'revs are too low' if I leave it in a higher gear - however changing gear doesn't disengage the cruise function so you can come to a halt with it although this works better for an auto.

Your new car sounds excellent, the Flair really does have everything.

I've been out in the snow this morning.

(11) In all my prior Picassos the cars would accelerate going down-hill. In my new one, the active braking kicks in and keeps the set speed.
(12) The car seems to fog up very easily - I probably need to learn the peculiarities of the aircon system. I had the same issue with 61 plate, and just learnt how it behaves.
(13) I reversed down the drive and managed to change the language to French. I think I chose a different profile by accident. My French stretched to "Deactivate Profile" and everything was fine.
(14) At the current low temperatures, our old Picasso would be very juddery and sluggish until the engine had warmed up. I experienced none of that with this new model.
(15) With my previous Picasso I liked being able to park and quite literally take the keys out of the ignition, and get out of the car. The parking brake would automatically be applied. There is none of this nonsense with this model due to there being no "keyed" ignition, or not that I've noticed yet.

Are you saying that when you stop the engine, the parking brake is not applied?

Sorry, I wasn't very clear. The parking brake is applied but I need to long press the Start/Stop button. It's just not quite as quick as yanking the keys out. I'm sure I'll get used to it eventually. I've only had it 36 hours, and it's all new to me.

(16) My Galaxy S6 Edge connects via bluetooth almost instantaniously. In my previous C4GP it could take up to 30 seconds.
(17) Automatic raising and dipping of headlights. Yes, they work but not very well. On country roads they dip rather late and gets a bit embarasing. If I happen to be turning a corner sometimes they don't dip at all. I've turned this feature off and will manage to old fashioned way.
(18) Android Auto works well. Have tested Google Maps, Waze, Google Play Music, Yatse, Pandora.
(19) Voice dialing. Works shockingly well. I'm impressed.

(20) The automatic speed limit recognition works well however they do miss report the speed limit if you have signs with warnings for a speed limit in three dashes, two dashes etc. The car will ignore the dashes and incorrectly report the limit early.

Try just a short press on the stop/start to switch off the engine.

You should see the engine turn off and the parking brake is automatically applied and you get out the car and go.

Have they fixed the washer fluid spray nonsense? i.e. it doesn't hit the windscreen in the swept area.

You're perfectly right about the start/stop button - I just prefer a key!

I thought my washer jets were out of alignment - obviously not - I hadn't heard of this issue.

I only discovered the Automatic headlight dipping two nights ago and found it very good although sometimes passing a farmhouse or barn with a light it would turn off the main beam but when meeting an on coming car it worked fine both on and off
