I am having a few issues with My C4 and want some help or advice. Two weeks ago I had a load of fault codes come up along with the Handbrake malfunction & ESP warnings.... I plugged in my reader and everything pointed to the EGR valve, and considering that my car has 81k on it I thought that I was a fair bet that it would need a change.
So now with a new EGR valve fitted the car drove real nice and pulled like a train. A couple of days ago I took the car out and did a journey that was longer than what I normally do. All was going well and then up pops the Handbrake, ESP and Service lights soon followed by ASR.
I was on the motorway when this came on but fortunately there were no performance issues.
When I stopped I plugged in my reader and P0490 came up again but a new one P0401.
I have put a video of this on youtube (https://youtu.be/to5xj4EucgY).
Any help would be kindly accepted.

I have the same issue with a 2011 e-HDi that has 155.000 km or about 100.000 miles. Errors P0401 and P0490.

Hi, the problem I had was the EGR valve. Although I had replaced it, the replacement turned out to be faulty.
So far, touch wood, everything has been good.
I hope this helps?
