Hi newbie to the page and saw this has been spoken about on another thread but my knowledge of cars is basic so need some guidance. My car is an 2006 C4 VTR+ 5 door. Noticed today my passenger side foot well is soaked. Looked on here and seems it could be leaking aircon problem. How do i solve this or how much realistically should a garage charge to rectify the problem. Any help is truly appreciated.

Yes, it's almost certainly a blocked A/C drain.

There's DIY instructions somewhere on the site. It's a fiddly job which needs patience.

It'll be done in under an hour, less if the mechanic knows what he is doing, plus drying time for the carpet.

The photos are close ups.

You need to remove the side panels and then locate the rubber drain hoses. IIRC it just pulls out. It, and the hole through the chassis, can be cleaned. It's then a matter of re-fitting - which is the tricky bit. There is not much access space and lips of the pipe need to fit exactly onto the A/C unit and the waste pipe to prevent leaks.

I think that's right - it's a long time since I did it.

This must be a common thing with the 2006 C4 Mk1, I had the same problem (lucky it was under warranty) and my vehicle was only 3 months old when I purchased it new. The problem is with the A/C's drain line. The water in my C4 2006 Exclusive hatch was on the passenger side, with a RHD Australian model. Hope this helps

Hi,
Mine was the same on my 2008 , but it wasn’t blocked A/c . It was a blocked drain pipe from base of screen . Pipe runs round inner wheel arch but does block, then comes inside car through heater area..
there is a pipe on both sides drivers and passengers

The water in the scuttle should drain directly to the road. If the drains block, and they frequently o, the water finishes up in the footwell. You need to clear the drans.

Where are these drains located? I've had the wheel arches out but can't find anything? The piccasso drains are not there so i assume they are somewhere different?

Yep, that is a common fault in the 2006 C4's, I had that when my c4 Exclusive vehicle was only 1 month old in 2006. Its was a drain plug that came lose and drained all the AC fluid into the cabin, on the passenger side. You have to take the carpet out and dry it separately and then see where the drain tubing for the AC is and rectify that. The 2006 C4's also suffer from a cracked windscreen (they crack for no apparent reason) which also happened to me just after they fixed the AC cabin flooding, so they had to replace the windscreen on a 2 moth old car. Hope you sort it out, cheers.
