Hi

-----
** Update: 15 Jan 2018 **
The UK site now has both the map and firmware updates available for download. The instructions to install are still not loading but map installation is explained below. To get to the UK downloads:
- Log into MyCitroen UK: - Click Here -
- Navigate to Citroen Shop -> Citroen Connect Nav

28 Sep 2017: So after over a year of trying to get map updates for my TomTom sat nav in my C4 Grand Picasso in the UK, thanks to information I cobbled together here and on other forums, here is what I did to get my maps updated. (Thanks to daverave53 for pointing me in the right direction).

Official advice for the UK from Citroen is to go to your dealer who will be able to update your maps. However I found dealers still did not have the information either on what to do. They can apparently download them from the Citroen Service site.

As per other suggestions, I logged into MyCitroen France, entered my VIN and low and behold there was version 6 waiting for me to download. I was on version 2 and my home address was missing from the map.

This is for updating maps only, on the facelift Citroens using TomTom Connect Nav. I have not downloaded or tried updating my firmware which was done successfully recently by my dealer during service. This process worked for me but cannot take responsibility if others have issues or end up bricking their navigation system.

Steps taken:
1. Download each version update to install in order (skipping an update resulted in an error)
2. Format a 16GB USB drive (Fat32)
3. Unzip the first download to the root of the drive
4. Insert into USB port in car and turn on engine
5. Follow the onscreen prompts and keep engine running until update is complete

Repeat steps until successfully on the latest version.

Map download links TomTom Europe:

V4 - http://download.tomtom.com/OEM/PSA/P3CNS/PSA_map-eur_4.0.2-NAC_EUR_WAVE2.tar
V5 - http://download.tomtom.com/OEM/PSA/P3CNS/PSA_map-eur_5.0.1-NAC_EUR_WAVE2.tar
V6 - http://download.tomtom.com/OEM/PSA/P3CNS/PSA_map-eur_6.0.1-r0-NAC_EUR_WAVE2.tar
V7 - http://download.tomtom.com/OEM/PSA/P3CNS/PSA_map-eur_7.0.0-NAC_EUR_WAVE2.tar *Updated*

** Now the UK site is allowing downloads I do not plan to provide future links to future versions unless the UK site stops providing them. **

Wayne.

Glad you got it sorted waynieoaks. Its a bit daft that we can get the map updates via the french or spanish site but citroen are unable to sort out the links on the UK site.

Although this is a new map update the data is probably nearly 12 months old as it seems to takes tomtom that long to verify and update. For example there is a new motorway near me that has been open now for a few months but will probably not appear on a map update until mid 2018. Google maps is much quicker at updating data and already has the new motorway on it. I tend to check the tomtom route against google maps route when on long journeys.

I´ve found entering addresses can be a bit difficult especially in spain where they seem to spell the road name in about 4 different ways!!!!
Have you tried just entering the postcode using the search function.

Thanks for putting this guide together its been really handy. It's a joke citroen uk are sending us to the dealers for this. My dealer is not the best with that side of things having taken a while to get my live services activated in the first place. On mycitroen france the latest map it offers me is 5, I wonder if it doesnt offer 6 untill software is updated at first service?

Appart from the above, I must say this is the best in car sat nav I've had, much better than the vw discover system. Been to france with it twice and is good for navigating around traffic

The version 6 map update was only available for about 2 weeks before tomtom withdrew it apparently due to problems with it although I have it installed and havent had any problems. The latest version now being offered is 5.0.1 . Not sure if they will reissue 6 or go straight to 7 but will let you know when I get the update offered.

Just been on the Mycitroen site and a new map is being offered for download V.6.0.1-r0. Not able to download and check it at the moment as I´m away from home and using my phone as a mobile hotspot so have limited data and know the download is quite large. Will download when I´m home next.

I made a guess at the link and it seems to work - not installed it yet though.

There is a nice tutorial on how to update your maps and firmware here.

http://www.planete-citroen.com/forum/showthread.php?t=189180

It is however in French, though Google Translate works well on the text. I may post a translated version on the site.

the update takes 15-18 minutes; around 50% of the time the system is VERIFYING data.

As long as you keep the ENGINE RUNNING all the time the upgrade should be okay. TURN OFF ECO MODE IN SYSTEM SETTINGS FIRST!!

Step to do are these:

1) Download the filee.
2) Get a good USB stick of 1Gb or more ( try to avoid cheap sticks at all cost; so use a Sandisk or so )
3) Format this stick and make it FAT32 filesystem
4) Use a good unpacker ( I use WinRAR ) to UNZIP the data to the CLEAN formatted FAT32 USB stick
5) in the root of the stick you put the folder SMEG_IV2_UPG ( so when you "explore" the USB driver you see just one folder "SMEG_IV2_UPG" )
6) go to the car and start the engine
7) pull out existing USB devices and insert the stick
8) the SMEG will take 2-3 minutes to "recognize" the stick and then it ASKS you if you want to update; press YES
9) the SMEG prepares the system and after 6 minutes it reboots.
10) you keep the USB stick in the USB port -> the SMEG reboots 4-5 times total operation WHILE the engine is running! takes 15-18 minutes
11) the SMEG comes back and you can verify your FW
12) now you can switch of the engine; you are done

Whilst updating the SMEG ( steps 9-10 ) you see a "blue screen" with TEXT -> this is normal you can actually read the progress there.

Just use a freshly formatted USB stick of good quality, take your time ( 20 minutes ) and keep the engine running! That is it.

Your MAPS and Speedcams are not deleted they remain in the unit; this file only changes / updates the operating system.

The link that Daizy posted now seems to work...

http://download.tomtom.com/OEM/PSA/P3CNS/PSA_map-eur_7.0.0-NAC_EUR_WAVE2.tar

Is it now listed on the Citroen website? Due to the recent release of 6.0.1, I'm a bit dubious about it. What do people think?
