Hi, I've been looking at getting a 3 year old GP Exclusive Plus BlueHDI 2.0L 150 BHP. In the ad, it says it's an "auto" gearbox but doesn't specify whether it's an ETG6 or an EAT6 gearbox. Does that mean it is a traditional auto box? I've Googled almost a week and couldn't find any consistent answers! On Parkers there are two models, I think it is the first one. What's the difference between Auto and EAT6 auto? - Click Here - - Click Here - |

All B78 2.0 automatics are the EAT6 gearbox, it definitely won't be ETG. There have been numerous spec changes I suspect that coincides with one of the changes - there's no real difference to the car though, certainly not technically. |

I bought a car exactly the same as that a month ago 2.0 Ex+ EAT6 and it is definitely the full auto box which is great btw. An easy way to see which box it is, if you can view any photos of the interior the gear selector above the steering wheel will give the game away. ETG will be labelled RNAM for the different gears, whereas the EAT6 will be labelled PRNDM.

Mine is 2014 also, and it has a lot of the features which were later removed from the standard spec of the newer cars for whatever reason.

When doing a test drive last week, it was soooo smooth I was almost certain it's a torque converter gearbox aka EAT6. My old car 10 year old car is an auto-clutch and is no where as smooth |

So glad it's going to be the EAT6 as I'm looking for a fresh experience moving away from semi-autos. Semis are fine as long as you unconsciously "remember" to easy off the accelerator near gear change. |

Yes in the old semi auto you would tend to avoid accelerating too hard, especially in the lower gears, but with the EAT6 it is really smooth especially when accelerating pretty quickly, which the 2.0 engine can do with ease, it's pretty powerful I think.
