Hi can any one help when I switch of car the main engine fan comes on and goes off after about 5 mins is this normal or is there a problem Thank you for your help

Does it ALWAYS do this, or just sometimes.

Ours has been like this (occasional activation of the engine cooling fan when the engine is switched off)for close on 5 years.

I'm pretty sure this is part of the DPF regeneration.

(No Problems).

I've never had it happen (to my knowledge) over a total of 17 years on 5 Citroen cars!

My fan doesn't do it either.

My C4 is a November 2010 1.6HDi B7, which I;ve had from almost new. The only times the fan has stayed running after the engine was switched off was in real heat, i.e. hotter than 30°C.

My 55 plate C4 never did it either.
