Good morning all,

After owning my c4 grand Picasso 1.6hdi for just over a year it's getting to the point of getting rid of it as it giving more trouble then it's worth.

Just only to mouth ago I had the gear box rebuild at a cost of £2000, now the turbo has decide to give up on me so I am looking for some advise to make this issue as cheap as poss a the gearbox has drained all my funds for the repair.

The thing with a turbo repair is you need to take the sump off & clean the strainer, replace some of the feed pipes etc. and replace the turbo. If you don't do this, then the new turbo will only last a few months at best.

If you take the car to 2 garages and one charges you say £1200 and the other charges £700 then there's a good chance the cheaper price won't include all the necessary work and you'll be back where you started shortly after.

Also, turbos only fail if the car hasn't been maintained properly!
