Hi

This morning I managed to tear off the plastic trim which sits over the boot opening mechanism and spans the width of the boot. The boot opening mechanism itself was left suspended by its attachment. Born clumsy I'm afraid.

I've gingerly replaced the mechanism for now.

I would appreciate any advice on the repair job.

I guess I need to contact the dealer for a new plastic trim.

Has anybody replaced one before - I wonder if its mostly a case of pushing new clips into place and possibly within the skill set of an idiot like me?

It's a C4 GP VTR+ HDi 2011.

Thanks for looking.

It's bolted on with 5 bolts. To access them you need to unscrew the screws in the finger pockets then unclip the plastic trim.

You might be able to clean up the plastic & epoxy the lot back together.

Replacement with new isn't cheap!
