Hiya, got a 2004 1.6 petrol coupe.

lately, the car without warning the service light comes on, usually after slowing down or coming to a stop, then as I accelerate I have no power, barely get it to 15mph.

once I pull over, if I restart the engine its fine.

its only happened twice in two days.

someone has mentioned this happened on his focus and it was a fault speed sensor, could a faulty speed sensor put the car in limp mode?.

It could be a variety of things, you need to hook the car up to Lexia for the fault-codes

I have a hand held code reader but nothing actually comes up.

I am getting the similar thing but usually while driving on an open roads especially highways.

The service light comes on, engine management faulty on display, and I lose power. I can go even fast as 130kmph but only on a straight road or downhill. When I accelerate it seems as the throttle is limited to about 30 or 40% max.

When I pull over, turn off the car, LOCK & UNLOCK the car, and start again then everything is fine. Sometimes i will get another service light in a few mins and sometimes after 20, 50 or 100 kilometers.

Those were the error codes
P0130 - oxygen sensor upstream
P2097 - oxygen sensor upstream
P0121 - air butterfly signal 1 & 2

In adition to that I have a voltage pulsing thing, and I suspect it may have something to do with it.
