I need to replace my bonnet on my Citroen C4 Loeb Mk2. The bonnet has some bad rust on the lip and underneath the front lip. What I would like to know is if I can replace this bonnet with a standard mk2 Citroen Bonnet?
Thanks in advance.

It won't be rust. It'll be the paint itself. The bonnet is aluminium so won't rust. No reason it can't be repaired. Be a lot cheaper.

The bonnet can be replaced however, it would need to be a later mk1 facelift bonnet. The MK2 is what we have as the current C4. What most people tend to think of as the MK2 anyway.

Wozza youv'e made my evening! I never knew this? And today i took the car to a body shop expert and he suggested it was rust and that it would be cheaper for me to replace the bonnet? Would he not have known that the bonnet was aluminium? I was worried about the patch re-appearing if it was painted but after you say that its aluminium i take it that wont happen? Many thanks for your help on this

I have just read though that aluminium corrodes but your correct it doesn't rust. Can corrosion be fixed or would that be a case of getting a new bonnet? The patch on my bonnet is bubbling at the front on top but looks like a rust patch from underneath. If this were to be painted would this return?

If it's done properly it should be repairable. If not then it may return later.
