Previously I had a Xsara Picasso which had rear seats that could be removed. I can't find a way to do this on my C4 Picasso VTR+ HDI 1.6. When the seats are folded down, they don't lie flat. Is there any way to make them lie flat? I removed the head restraints but I can't get them anywhere near flat. Am I missing something?

Thanks
Alan

Yes, they do fold completely flat but you don't need to remove the headrest - however, the headrest does need to be fully lowered and the front seats pulled forward a couple of inches - you then lower the seat fully and the front seat can be returned as it sits above the back of the flattened seat (ie the headrest goes under the front seats); one minor inconvenience is that you can't then fully-lower the front seats which is only really an issue if you are 6'4" like me!

I seem to remember the seats had a sort of 'sticking point' at about 30 degrees from the horizontal but an extra push sorted them.

EDIT: I forgot to mention, you do need them slid back as far as they go (pull the lever underneath the seat)

Thanks for the reply.
I have tried it & seat does go flatter but is doesn't go down to the same level as the boot. It is about 4" higher than the boot. The distance from the back of the seat to the floor is nearly 12". The rear seat back is level with the bottom of the "Magazine holder" on the rear of the front seat, with the front seat fully raised. I can't get the back seat to go any lower as the highest point is the hinge mechanism. Am I missing something?

Thanks
Alan

Is there something under the seats? The base drops too as part of the movement and if there is something stopping this from dropping then it won't complete the motion

I can't see anything under the seats that is stopping it going level with the boot. I have tried every combination I can think of eg seat back forward and in the "comfort" position. I have had the car for over 3 years & have never been able to get them level with the boot. I don't know if it makes a difference buy mine is the normal Picasso not the Grand

Ours was a 5 seater too - are you able to take a picture of what it looks like as far down as you can get it?

There is a slight ridge where the seats and boot floor meet, it has a curve on it (rather than being at right-angles) but they are flat

That is what I have been doing but the nearest I can see is Insert image which just comes up with the img tag. I am cracking up.

Yes, that's absolutely normal - there is the ridge I mentioned in an earlier post which is about 1"
