Twas thinking of changing my front tyres afer 20,000 miles.
Got back from 200 mile journey late last night and found something missing this morning ...

Needless to say, the screw was on the shoulder of the tyre!

Honest John currently rates Michelin CrossClimate tyres as a very good tyre. KwikFit have them in stock at c £180 BUT if I ordered online and wait a couple of days they are less than £138 all in....

So, I've got the spare on for a few days driving around locally and hope I dont pick up another puncture . . .

Look at the state of those alloys!

They're round & silver-ish.
Most of the alloy modifications were done by previous owner BUT I did personalise them a bit messen during a home visit
It's a car, a workhorse and NOT an ornament . . .

Thanks Riven.
I have booked with KwikFit as they are local to me.

Usually use BlackCircles but their nearest place is not near where I'll be this week and they dont do Michelin CrossClimate.

Hopefully KwikFit will prove to be as efficient.

tyeshopper is the internet shop for National Tyres. I always find blackcircles expensive when I compare them against tyreshopper. Glad your sorted.

Hmmm . . . well KwikFit did fit new tyres.
They are directional and, yes, both were fitted pointing forwards.
BUT, you knew there was a but coming didn't you?
That badly scuffed nearside alloy was fitted onto the front offside.
Didn't notice initially but went back and it was politely pointed out, they then changed it - this meant the tyres had to be taken off both wheels and refitted . . . .

Definitely not a Kwik Fit.

PS: consider Costco for Michelins if you're a member and there's a warehouse nearby.

COSTCO - £50 off 4 x Michelins from 27th June to 17th July.
If you don't qualify for "Trade" membership, Individual Membership, which includes a complimentary spouse/domestic partner card is £30, so saving £20 on the 4 tyres, and allowing you to buy products from Costco for the next 12 months. Worth doing, to find out if Costco suits you, or not.

Also consider F1 Autocentres if you have one nearby. The price is usually lower than Costco with no membership.

I don't know what has happened to tyre availability. After we have taken our C4GP to the continent this year, I will need to buy at least a pair of front tyres. I've been looking to find out the cost. Last week on the F1 site I had at least 3 choices of Michelins in 225/45 R18 V95 (Extra load) including Pilot Sport 3. Now they have all disappeared apart from the Alpin PA4 at £234 a tyre.
