Hi, im looking to fit some roof bars onto my 2011 DS4 and struggling to see how they fit. They will only be used a couple of times a year so just looking for a cheap aftermarket pair but not sure which ones will fit. Ive looked at the C4 fitting guide but it suggests there are 4 fitting points on the roof but they dont appear to be there on my DS4? |

Which bars do you have? We have a set of Thule bars with the feet and conversion pack from Thule. They will work the same way as all other fittings in how the connect to the car though - you will notice each 'foot' has a pin that sticks out at about 45 degrees, these fit in to a hole in the car that is in the recess the door closes in to - if you open the doors, crouch a little and look up you will see a black plug - remove this with a small Allen key and then locate the 'pins' on the foot into this, tighten the whole ensemble and it is job jobbed. Let me know if that still doesn't help |

Apologies, just realised I wasn't very clear. I don't actually have any bars yet, im looking to find some and seem difficult to come by. To be honest, im not looking to spend a lot of money on some, was hoping to get some aftermarket ones for about £50 or something, just aren't sure if all will fit? (i know all bars dont fit all cars) Just dont know if these fitments that I need come with most sets or can be purchased separately to allow me to get any bars? FrankBullitt wrote ... Ah, I see. No, you need to buy bars that are specifically for the DS4 - only cars with roof rails such as estates or MPV's can tend to get away with universal bars. The location of the foot in the rear door has quite a large space to bridge (the door drops away from the roofline quite heavily) and for the rear alone I can see wy you end up with specific feet. Our Thule ones cost £220 (although we bought them with a roof box which have an overall saving of £60) and whilst I appreciate you want to spend much less I would say that the Thule ones come as a foot pack, conversion pack and the bars - only the foot pack is car specific shchi means you can reuse the bars and conversion pack on every car you have in the future so whilst it is a big investment they will last for years! |
