Looks like Citroën and others are in the dock as well.

err not quite. The only car listed is a DS5 4X4 'Hybrid' (anyone actually seen one??) and that is now under the separate 'DS' brand

I'm not sure that anyone as been cheating apart from VW. When cars are tested it is inevitable that the cars will be built to pass the test. Those that remember the fuel consumption figure being quoted at 56mph will remember that cars were optimised for this speed.
You can only test cars to the protocol required. A different test will almost inevitably give different results.
And, perhaps most important, petrol cars are tested by the same method. To be fair, petrol cars should be tested to the new protocol, and it wouldn't surprise me to see a similar result.
The current Euro 6 limit for NOx is 0.080g/km. If it is true that VWs are producing 40x the claimed figure, this is 3.2g/km, this is 6x the Euro 3 figure of 0.50g/km, set in January 2000!!!!

There's always a few high mileage ones for sale on autotrader!

A diesel hybrid which will be able to perform exceptionally well in the urban test specifically (with lots of zero emissions periods) will always produce much more emissions than almost any other combination in the real world.

Latest news on VW. 1.6 will need replacement injectors and software fix, 2.0 software only.

As a matter of interest, if petrol cars are tested the same way that diesels are, should the petrols be retested to see if they are more polluting than claimed?

Nearly €2bn wiped off Renault's shares on reports of emissions probe

Interesting that in the linked article, three of the top-selling Renaults are actually sold as Dacias. Looks like I have chosen a good time to dispose of our Clio!

Absolutely. My son is having a hard time selling his 4 year old VW Scirocco even though it's petrol engined - best offer is £2K under bottom book price and it's in great condition, FSH, etc.

I heard an interesting discussion on Radio 4 today. It seems that VW are not going to compensate people who have a car involved in the 'cheating'. The reason is that you cannot compensate unless there has been a cost or loss, and VW claim that resale values have not been affected by the scandal.
