In the Budget last year it was announced that cars would not be required to be MOT tested (or whatever you want to call it) until its 4th anniversary. I've had a quick trawl through the internet and I can't find any further info. Does anyone know whether a start date has been announced or has it been canned?

The first link I found (honest john) with a Google search said they government would "consult" on changes. Didn't say anything about implementing it.
