I own a C4 Loeb VTi 120. It's done 60,000 miles and I have just started having an error come up when I start the car saying check oil level. When I check the oil level it's fine (no loss). Does anyone have any suggestions as to why the car keeps telling me to check oil level when the oil level is fine?
Does a sensor need changing?
Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

Are you parked on a slope?
If I park mine with the passenger side leaning into the gutter, when it's started I get that message even if oil is full. If parked back on the level, it will re set.

How strange .. I suppose mine is parked on a very slight downward slope but only very slightly , do you know what causes this or what possibly needs changing ?
Thanks for replying

I think it's pretty common with most makes of cars, in about 1987 I had an XR3i (I know!) which would do this!

These cars are overly sensitive when it comes to things like this. It may be okay on the dipstick but below tha parameters of the sensor. Just throw half a litre in. See what happens.

I have just run OBD on my Citroen C4 Loeb and its coming back with the fault code P0014 "B" camshaft position - timing Over-Advanced or system performance . Could this be causing the oil errors I am getting and does anyone know whether this could be a sensor change or a much bigger job ? I have tried to look on this site with regards to that P0014 code but cannot find any information ?

It is possible that low oil can be causing this error code. There won't be enough oil to power the pump, or something along those lines.
