Headlight LED update

So you twist of the back of the cover

Unplug the current bulb

Unhook the catch and remove bulb

Then do this again in reverse order

I have taken pics of the catch as you are doing this mostly by touch rather than seeing what you are doing.

Then sit back and enjoy!

Whilst I'm doing updates...

Another recent purchase of mine.

In my old car I had a gear lever where I could hang a carrier bag off and collect rubbish from the wife and kids and try to keep the car tidy.

However this car has no such thing! So I purchased Henry the car bin..

I will still need to get some bin bags for it, as can imagine it will get pretty filthy if I don't!

Also, the place where it goes is great as the kids can put their own rubbish in the bin rather than passing it forward. Plus the new bin won't annoy the Mrs by taking up her precious leg space and hang bag space!

@vimto2000 How is the light output of the bulbs compared to standard halogens. The spec are higher but they can write everything on ebay. What is your experience?

In terms of technical output...I can't say the claims are true..however I feel the brightness of the areas lit are much better! I definitely class this as a worthwhile upgrade.

In terms of legality of the product...I know cars that come with LED lights from factory so they LED aspect of them are legal. Whether these are proper CE or quality control is legal..I don't know.

As Admin Dave pointed out, you must declare the modification to your insurance company.

On a side note!! Today coming home from work, one of the lights started flickering. When it completely flicked off and back on again I got an error on the dash!

Not to codemn the lights completely, I got in touch with the seller and I am going to swap them from left to right to see if the fault follows the bulb. If it does then it is a faulty LED bulb, which the seller has agreed to swap out. This is one I ordered in UK not the one I linked earlier, but came at double the cost.

I have had a similar pair in my Skoda for past 6months and still going strong! So its just unfortunate!

You getting the H7 and the H11?

If you're getting the H11's, you will get them before me.

I tried to cancel my order from EBay but it's already been dispatched! Guess I can wait for them!

Another purchase for the car...

I had one of these chargers:

To power my phone and my wifes phone. We both have S5's, so the normal dual chargers could not supply enough power. Its worked brilliantly in my old car, however I read it interferes with the DAB Signal.

So tested it in the C4GP and true enough..when on DAB and charging my phone I got a hiss every 10 seconds or so.

Looking for a replacement I found this little fella..Anker 4.8amp charger.

Supposedly not interfering with the DAB. It arrived yesterday and tested it on my run into work this morning..and no interference. It is longer than the Aukey one, however due to the storage box...it makes no difference.
