First of all - hello, I own C4 bought in germany with steering wheel on the left side. I had my left wing mirror damaged and bought wing mirror coming from car crashed in UK. Today I got info from service that this UK one will not fit european car and I'm a bit confused. Both of them are non-automatically shutting. They say that it fits however electric adjustment won't work. Thus I have two questions: 1. should wing mirror from right-side steering wheel car fit into left-side one (i.e. UK and continental), 2. should mirror from 3-doors version be suitable for my 5-doors car? Many thanks in advance for your help! Regards |

Why can't you simply swap the motor from the old mirror into the replacement as it's usually only the casing that gets damaged. The basic manual fold and heated mirrors on early cars are the same part numbers on RHD or LHD 5 or 3 door cars BTW. Without a Vin though an exact comparison cannot be made as there are numerous variants of the mirrors. |

Hi Dave, Thank you for your reply. That would certainly do but I have no idea if I will manage to do it by myself. Is it possible by any chance that there is a tutorial for replacing wing mirror and disassembling it to replace motor etc? |

Thanks, it helps a lot. Though I still wonder how to replace only motor & wiring in the new casing. Unfortunately it's the bottom part of the casing that is broken and it seems to be one part with all mirror's motor and electronics... Then I could swap old motor & glass into the new casing (both top cover and bottom) EDIT: I just took a look on damaged mirror and it looks like the engine is kept in place by three torx bolts. While trying to remove glass from a pad one of the plastic tubes with bolt in it broke and I really wonder if it will be possible to swap this engine into the new mirror... |
