The speedo readout on my old C4 used to be spot on: indicated 70mph was also 70mph on the SatNav even after 165,500 miles

My newer, 2011, C4 VTR+ seems to be out (and, yes, it does have the correct profile tyres) as it reads 73 mph when the SatNav states 70 mph.

I can live with that, annoying though it is, but my question is ...
is the mileage travelled read differently and so is correct or is that also inaccurate???

The mileage seems to agree with the SatNav on a couple of 5 mile sections of my journey today . . . . .
Have to try on a longer journey with the SatNav and see of it is accurate over longer distances

the old one was reading +1 KPH more, the new one reading is +5 KPH more. this is the case with a lot of cars as the law is that the reading of the speedo cannot be less than the real speed. so most manufacturers calibrate the speed readings to about 5 KPH higher

I think the offset can be changed in the BSI not that it's worth doing!
