Tahnks for the answer to battery Dave, another question which im having trouble getting me ead around. My C4 has a kerb weight of 1280 and gross weight? of 1790( Not sure if this is kg or what) the trailer tent im looking at is has a weight of 675KG Ex works with a gross weight 225kg. Im confused as to wether my vehicle would be ok to tow it, I dont have a problem with licence as Im an old [%*^#@!]. Thanks for help |

The trailer tent can't be 225kg gross and 675kg ex-works, could be the other way around or is it gross of 675kg with a payload of 225kg? If the trailer is braked then you need to check the gross weight for a braked trailer (probably between 1000 and 1200kg), but trailer tents aren't usually braked (is it actually a folding camper whic do tend to be braked?) so you'll have to stay within the unbraked limit for your car (typically 500-700kg). The rule you were looking for is 85% of the kerb weight being the advised limit for novice towers and relates to braked outfits only. If you know the name of the unit you are towing then that would be helpful |

The Pennine is 675Kg unladen, 900Kg Gross Which means it will be a braked trailer. OK on your licence if you're an old fart and well within the towing limits of your car. |

What 'e said The Pennine Pullman is indeed braked, well within your cars limits (it's a folding camper BTW, not a trailer tent!) |

Forget 'Formulas'. Citroen quite clearly state that the Maximum towing weight for a C4 is 750 KG Unbraked. Braked limits depend on the car variant, engine size etc. Both are plated on the car somewhere.... |
