 Just purchased a car camera which is part of the rear view mirror

Was wondering, instead of tracing the wire along the top of windscreen and then find a way to plu it in the cig lighter on the console, wheter it could be wired into the courtesy lights ?

 Had to thread the wiring alongthe top of the windscreen and then down the side and under the dash into the cig lighter.

 I have found my USB cable quite thick and it is hanging from the mirror ('LINDY 3m USB 2.0 Cable, Type A to mini B, Black' from Amazon). Will try and find the way around, just don't want to pull the covers too hard so they don't break. The dvr I use is G1WH but I'm thinking about - Click Here -

 I found the easiest way was to feed the USB wire under the roof lining, pull the door seal of near the dash to the roof, the wire can be threaded behind the A post trim to the gap behind the door seal and bring it out near the dash then push the seal back on.
