Just thought I'd pop a few pics of my new roof bars up. Couldn't find any pics of them fitted to a C4 before purchase (so took a bit of a risk). Just in case someone else is considering them and wants to see the look first here you go! General experience so far: They are amazing. Almost silent except for in strong cross winds, so no more wine and whistle (used to have normal Thule Aero bars on my last car, very noisy). Fitting was a pig as the threads on the car had never being used so had to cut them out (I actually used a drum kit screw which was the same size but much coarser! Not the best way but no tap and die set handy!). They look quite good I think, much lower than other roof bars out there, inc the other thule varieties. I run them permanently for regular bike trips etc and they are basically great only negative is they are quite narrow as the ends finish quite far in. Don't think you could get 3 bike carriers on like my old aeros but fine for 2. Not cheap mind. But I'd say worth the money if you intend to keep the car for some time. Bars are 9594 with a 3019 fitting kit. No feet as these are integral. Ps for reference they'd had a a little over a 1000 dirty miles hence the look. They do however seem to clean up quite well, unlike my last thule bars that just clung to dirt and stains! Anyway hers the pics! Feel free to ask any questions! |
