Has anyone experienced an issue with air whistling from the heater?

I have an Exclusive with the climate but when it's cold and when moving and stood still until the car gets up to speed it's getting annoying. I'll need to book it in but I hope they don't have to replace all the flaps and stuff in the dash as I don't have much hope tbh. Didn't happen until it got cold or maybe when the screwed up the top mount work.

Am I alone?

You are indeed not alone as my new Exclusive+ does exactly the same, particularly recently as its been cold.

It does seem to settle down once the car warms up, but often this is quite some while. I agree though it is annoying and I tune into it. I have found the stereo very good, so quite often I crank that up a notch!

The only way I can seem to stop it early is to set the climate control on Soft setting, rather than Normal, but then the fans slow down. You can also reduce the fan speed manually by a notch or two to try and reduce the whistle.

Its one of those issues that I may live with as I also don't want the car pulled apart to try and resolve it!

Interesting... Im like you Blue HDI the last time they did a piece or work on it, it came back via the AA so I will ask and see what they think it is at its service. Which its saying is 12000 miles and I'm sure its 16000 or 1 year...

I did wonder if there was a spanner or clip left in the air intake when they took off the scuttle cover to change the top mounts but as more have been hearing this its strange.. wonder if its winter affected as it didn't do it till Nov/dec.. maybe a seal has been misplaced as it sound like that.

Check out Mann filters (via Google) where you can find install/mounting instructions for pretty much every car made. They have mounting instructions in PDF format available as you drill down their site.

I have located these:

I'm not sure though, that these instructions may relate to left hand drive cars, which may not actually help you! I'd be surprised if it's the pollen/cabin filter, as my car did it from new. I haven't heard it so much recently as the weather has warmed a little.

I do have a summary from another forum of how to get at the cabin filters (2 are fitted I believe), which I'll try and locate tomorrow.
