I have an 80gig iPod with around 5000 songs on it, but when plugged in to the usb I have the following issues:
listing by artists - only 1 track is accessible & can't get any other artists
listing by genres - only 22 tracks available (Alternate Rock) & can't get other genres
listing by playlists - some playlists I have created are available but not all - and some that are not on my iPod!
Choice of playback mode: Normal - only 1 track is available
Choice of playback mode: Random All - is not available.

Does anyone know what the problem is?

First thoughts are:

a) 80Gb is too big for the radio, which I assume is an RD5. (I have no problems with my or the wife's 8Gb Nanos)

b) You're using the wrong cable.

c) Re-set the iPod.

RD5 radio looks a bit like this:

Thanks for the reply. Yes it is an RD5 (identical to picture). I really hope that your first suggestion is not correct - I thought that I had read of some people use 160Gb iPods. The cable is a standard Apple cable. I will give option 3 a go and see what happens.

The User Guide is pretty basic unfortunately, and doesn't say much:

1. The audio files on a Mass Storage portable player can be heard through the vehicle's speakers by connecting it to the USB port (cable not supplied).

2. The iPod® must be updated regularly for the best connection.

3. The playlists are those defined in the iPod®.

4. The iPod® must be generation 5 or later.

5. Management of the device is via the audio system controls.

BTW, listing by Artist is the default listing.
