Hello was wondering if anyone could please give me some advice I recently bought a c4 vts 2.0 hdi model 2005 when I bought it the turbo was not working so managed to quickly diagnose turbo vacuum solenoid at fault which I have replaced and now have turbo but have now been left with another fault where if you put your foot down it hesitates then surges a couple of times and it does this through all the gears, I suspected the egr so went to fit a blanking plate today but found out someone had already fitted one should I still suspect the egr with plate fitted or rule it out. Air filter and fuel filter have also been replaced. Any help would be much appreciated, thankyou

Does the EGR blanking plate have a small hole in the centre to equalise the pressure?

Where on the car was it, as someone has asked the question in another thread?

I'm going to try changing my sensor too as mine is surging and putting the car into limp mode. How did you remove the sensor? I have just taken a look and it's very close to the bulkhead. Only thing I can think of is a screwdriver bit and a spanner to remove the three screws on the sensor.

Hi I had to remove the subframe to gain access to turbo then I used a 1/4 drive ratchet with a screwdriver bit in to remove screws but had a friend pushing the bottom of the engine forward for me slightly to give a little more clearance to get my ratchet in there, the whole job took me about 3 hours but I'm lucky enough to have access to a ramp. So it's very awkward to get screws out but is possible with a bit of determination, better than having to completely remove turbo.

Forgot to mention when I was driving round with this fault I did eventually get fault code p2565 come up which is to do with turbo copy signal so that's why I bit the bullet and ordered sensor.

The Turbo copy sensor is located on the back of the turbo it's a triangular sensor held on by 3 screws you can aquire them on ebay for around £85 which seems expensive for what it is but much cheaper than replacing the whole turbo unit.

Here's a pic of the sensor

just removed my sensor. i supported the engine with a jack, removed the engine mount and lowered the engine and i could get a 1/4 drive ratchet and screwdriver bit in and remove the screws took 10 mins max. sensor pluger was seized, i soaked it in wd40 and got it springing again. refitted and turbo is now alive and kicking. although not for long until engine got hot i guess, as i have p2562 (turbo position signal code)
replace with a new sensor i think
