There has been lots of posts on the merits or otherwise of removing the DPF and/or Blanking the EGR valve off. New MOT Test rules make this practice 'difficult' BigJohnD wrote ... Regular readers may recall that my brother-in-law's 2.0HDi 56 plate 406 suffered from the dreaded turbo runaway a couple of years ago. He had new injectors, the EGR closed off and the DPF removed. The friendly garage made sure it passed the MoT. When he went along this year for the MoT, the same 'friendly garage' said they would be unable to pass it as original components were not present and in any case they couldn't get the emissions down. Please be aware that whatever your told by any garage, you as the cars owner/driver could be in for a stiff fine or an unsellable car |
