Coming up to 12 months with my C4Pa 1.6vti VTR+, and still liking the car. Just recently I have noticed a slight whining noise from transmission, which only occours between 32mph and 40mph. Well, the car car was going into local Citroen dealer for fixed price full service/MOT and brake fluid change, so I mentioned the transmission noise to the service team when I took the car in. All went well with service and MOT, but service manager informed me of possible diff bearing problem, a bit disappointing after only 34k miles. Thankfully I bought a 3 year warranty through the dealer when I bought the car and they have authorised removal of the gearbox to repair the diff. The car is going in tomorrow (Weds), and will be off the road for 3 days (hopefully). I will post back at the weekend when I know more. PS Also asked the dealer if he would put in a claim for the dreaded crumbling drivers seat, but he didn't seem very optimistic as the service history has 2 citroen stamps and 1 from Arnold Clark & 1 from Bristol St Motors, where I purchased the car, so not a complete Citroen service history. PPS had a C1 courtesy car while mine was being serviced, just about the worst car I have ever driven, rock hard suspesion and very noisey. |

Got the car back today. Dealer says no need to remove gearbox as technician says box is prone to being a little noisy, they have changed the gearbox oil and there is a definite improvement, it is much quieter now, not that it was very noisy before. A rear brake caliper stuck on while they had the car, so they've replaced that. So all is ok again and no cost to me as they are dealing with the warranty company for me. all in all pretty good service from BCC Citroen, Bolton. By the way Citroen UK wouldn't cough up for a new seat base...wasn't expecting them to really seeing as they seem to be picky about the service history.....a new seat base is about £450 by the way, so I will persevere with what I have got. |
