Been advised by my on board dash .....Fluid level critical.

Out of curiosity I had a look it's a pouch not a canister.

The pouch looks to be leaking.

Question are:-

1.Do Citroen replace entire pouch or fill existing one up ?
2.Whats the cost likely to be ?
3.Is this a Citroen only purchase ?.

This will be my first fluid replacement since purchasing the car ( so bit of a virgin on this area of maintenance).
Hence the questions.

Thanks in advance
Kev.

Don't know about the cost but a new pouch will be required. Also, the system needs to be reset using a Lexia, so a trip to the dealers looks likely.

IIRC the dealer charged me about £250 for supply & fitting of the pouch last year.

It is possible to buy the fluid pouch and change it yourself if you have access to Lexia to reset the counter - Click Here -

Thanks All.

Replacement Pouch is £106.23 plus vat. Part no. For mine C4GP 1.6Hdi 2008 is 96 78 101 608.

Gonna try this procedure below that I found got nothing to lose.

Additive Counter can be reset manually with an ignition key sequence and fuel filler flap.

Light on, Dealer only are required to reset the system.

Finally there's the reset procedure to do it manually.... and it does work! because I completed it successfully.

Ensure filler flap is closed, and ignition is in position 0

You have 60 seconds to complete stage 1 of the procedure, beginning when ignition is turned to position II

Stage 1

Turn ignition to position II

open fuel flap, close fuel flap

open fuel flap, close fuel flap

Turn ignition to position 0

Turn ignition to position II

Stage 2 must be started within 60 seconds of igition being turned to position II in Stage 1

Stage 2

You have 10 seconds to complete the following

open fuel flap, close fuel flap

open fuel flap, close fuel flap

open fuel flap, close fuel flap

For Stage 3, wait a minimum of 15 seconds.. but no more than 30 seconds, anything over 30 seconds and you have to start again.. the window is 15-30 seconds.

Stage 3

You have 10 seconds to complete the following

open fuel flap, close fuel flap

open fuel flap, close fuel flap

open fuel flap, close fuel flap

Stage 4

Start engine, and run at idle for minimum of 20 seconds

After 25 seconds, MIL or PCL light should illuminate, or message displayed on instrument cluster to indicate reset has been achieved

Turn off engine, and move ignition to position 0

Turn ignition to position II, no message, PCL/MIL light should no longer be illuminated

If either are illuminated or message still displayed, try procedure again

Update .
Changed for brand new pouch fitted by yours truly...(£127.00 all in).

Tried reset sequence as above.... Initially it did remove (Additive Level Low) from Warning Log but only temporary.
So if any of you lovely people have access to Lexia and live near Birmingham and want to share your software with me (i.e. reset counters for me) one will gladly make it worth your while.

Thanks.

The pouch is in front of the driver's side rear wheel. There are many types of Eloys fluid. Some are miscible, some are not, and I beleive you cannot top up a pouch, only replace it. Also the system needs to be updated so it realises the bag has been changed, This needs diagbox, or a dealer to do that.

The type of fluid you use depends on the colour of the connector on the pouch, theres plenty of info on this on the site, as it's a 2011 i suspect that the connector will be green in which case you can get the fluid from euro car parts, it's called pat fluid, you can also get it off ebay along with a connector to top up the original pouch, very easy to do & pouch holds 2.4 ltrs just make sure pouch hasn't got a leak before starting.
