Hi

Last week I noticed a fluid leak from the gearbox area.

I now have a mild grinding noise from gearbox when I slow down.

I have no warning logs that indicate a fault

I am about to book the car in for repair, however, looking for the right advice so I can understand various repair options, or a check list of things I can look at first, for example is there a container which requires filling up with replacment fluid.

Thanks

Thanks

If it's 'grinding' it could be the input shaft bearing failing and as it's a labour intensive job to remove the engine expect a bill of £800 plus..........

The leaking 'fluid' could be from the EGS actuator and there are plenty of posts on site about it, heres 1 - Click Here -

Update, bearing fault in gearbox, 07 model, 45k on clock, the two main dealerships refuse to provide written quotes, 13 indep, I contacted wont touch the job.

Awaiting quote from gearbox company, but 505/50 about doing the job.

Mod car, big company etc etc, could this be a material/design fault with future vosa recalls.

Citroen will prob not help, because the repair costs are so high what can you do aaarrrrhhh

VOSA are only interested in Safety so don't expect any recall.

Yes the bearing can fail, but it's not that common given the number of cars out there that use it across the Citroen/Peugeot range and those that do are usually EGS models and not manuals.

Am I correct, there is a fixed price for a clutch replacement of 699.00, to get to the clutch they need to remove the gearbox, once the gear box is out, they will notice the bearing/s require replacing, if correct what could be the additional cost of the bearings.

The reason I ask, only one Inden will touch the job and hes not a cit spec, my only choice is a dealership

Check the fixed price offers at Citroen.co.uk and then approach a participating dealer.

I have had the repair done new clutch and drive shaft 1900.00, however from picking the car up, I noticed a drop in performance and aceleration when driving.

I have returned the car, just been informed the turbo has failed, this has occurred during the repair time at the dealership, I beleive this fault has occurred during the repair, need some advice on how proceed

Have they not simply forgotten to couple the turbo piping up tight?

Agreed, I suspect this is simply a case of something needs refitting or tightening.

Update, just had a chat with the dealership, The turbo actuator has failed and the car is in safe mode, fault code P2562 and P0299, there were no warnings or logs of the fault warning me of the fault when driving.

The mech has checked all pipes, seals and electrics he says they are ok

Please bear in mind from the first minute I picked the car up after repair I had no working turbo and I now believe it was in safe mode.

Price for new repair 459.65

Advice please

In general terms, how much does the turbo actuator part cost and how many hours of labour to replace this part?
