When I accelerate about half throttle or more there is a thud noise. Gradual acceleration no noise at all. Posted on facebook page was advised to post here. Anyone know what it is? Been told it sounds like an engine mount. My dad thinks it's drive shaft.

Are either of these expensive to fix? Any help would be great as I still have to drive the car to work for another 2 weeks before I get paid so can't fix it just now.

Yes, jack the car up, and check the engine and gearbox mountings, and the driveshaft joints.

Yea just a mount and some links thank God. Thought I'd bought a car ready for the scrap heap . Who ever owned it before me hasn't treated it very well, ripped seat, loose bonnet and going to have to do a lot of paint correction. Lots of scratches and it's going pink (bought the car when it was dark I know I shouldn't have ) but drives well enough so I'm happy enough give me something to do over the winter

If you picked it up for £2K then sounds like one of the cheapest C4 Loebs out there...!

Interesting that the red paintwork is losing it's pigment already, my 2007 By Loeb was still bright, but regularly waxed/polished...

yea i thought it was a bargain only 62k miles on it too why i panicked when i heard the thump thought that something was badly wrong and thats why it was so cheap. needs sum tlc paint on roof and bonnet is lightly scratched all over think it may have been parked under tree or bushes regularly so weather has been able to get under clear coat. planning on getting dual action polisher and cutting compound to bring it back. worse comes to worse white roof wrap and middle of bonnet will cover most of it
