This website will tell you the correct oil for your car's engine. - Click Here - Enter either your number plate or details of your model. E.g. Total Quartz INEO ECS 5W-30 ACEA C2 - Click Here - (Total Quartz INEO ECS is the only Low SAPS oil recommended by Peugeot and Citroën. PSA Peugeot & Citroën B71 2290 Homologation) Other variant engines e.g. petrol can use the above oil but other options are also available for those. |

So are we saying that both the oil from Asda and the oil you linked to from Total are both suitable for our C4 diesel cars? I always change the oil approx every 6 months and its that time now. |

Technically, they could be but remember what others say about Supermarket Fuels compared to the main suppliers. Personally, for the price difference, I will be using Total oil as it's still far cheaper than a turbo, EGR valve or an engine............. |

Like you, I am now doing intermediate oil changes between services (so every 6-7,000 miles) as the car is getting into high mileage (plus I'm doing 20k+ a year at the moment). Used the Tesco oil 7,000 miles ago (got 4L of it for £15), been absolutely fine. Car is being serviced this Saturday (along with having the Eolys refilled), so will get whatever bulk [%*^#@!] oil the dealer is trying to pass off as suitable. At least it'll only be in the car for a few months. Will also be my last ever dealer service (only using them because of the Eolys replacement) - will be back to my trusted independent garage in Rugby for the remainder of the car's life after this weekend. |

Finding Total oils is going to get more difficult. The Total garage at the end of our road is now ESSO, and several others have changed brands. Also a filling station on Edge Lane (the A5047 dual carriageway between Liverpool and the Rocket end of the M62) has become Greenergy - Tesco's primary supplier. My best friend Google tells me: "Total could pull out of UK market" and "Greenergy is thought to have launched bids for 1,240 forecourts owned by Total and Murco" all on the same page - - Click Here - |

Most of the sites (just over half) were sold/leased to Shell, with the second biggest parcel sold to Snax24. Murco bought some, as did Texaco. Several went to smaller chains and independent operators, and some closed altogether (the Total on London's Marylebone Road being a big example of sites that closed after Total failed to find a buyer). With the Total name expunged from the forecourt (the last few stragglers will be rebranded by the end of this year), it is the reason why Total is now trying to market the buyoils web site as its primary outlet for lubricants in the UK (as well as through resellers). |

Ta. So the Total closure is almost there. Our local Total only became Esso about a month ago, possibly one of the last to be transferred, hence my late noticing of the changes. | ||||
