I have recently purchased a 10 plate 1.6 HDI VTR+ Hatch and I'm currently have a couple of issues.
The cruise control/Speed limiter is not operating reliably in that when working OK it could just drop out with 'PAUSE' being displayed and the stored figure lost and replaced with '--'. Other times the display comes up with 'PAUSE' and '--' displayed and cruise control/ limiter doesn't activate. No errors are shown just that they will not operate.
I also have had antipollution faults appearing with no apparent loss of function to the car. Each time P3008 has been present. The first time P0299 was displayed also but the last two times I have had P0100 displayed.
Could these all be linked back to the ECU? Any ideas or clues?

Re: the Cruise control.
It only works in 4th and 5th gear and above 30mph/50km/h

Try cleaning the steering wheel switches with switch cleaner (NOT WD40) and moving the steering column in and out.

Re: Error Codes.
P3008: Flowmeter signal : Air flow too strong
P0299: Charge pressure regulation - air pressure below the reference value
P0100: Flowmeter signal - air flow not plausible

Sounds like a leak or faulty EGR. But I'm guessing.

Many thanks for your replies but I have an update.
The code P3008 came up again with a pending code of P0299. Luckily I was visiting my brother who is a mechanic. He reset the codes with my reader but on inspection of the engine bay he found a jubilee clip loose on the hose from the intercooler. He tightened it and so far so good. Cruise control is working and no codes with the added bonus of more power. Is this a coincidence with the cruise control working again?

If it was leaking air reducing turbo boost it could be that the ECU declined requests for cruise control activation because of the errors caused.

You just need to keep an eye on it and monitor what is happening.
