Sadly my car has also developed this problem. Every time you close the passenger door the whole car locks itself and the wing mirrors fold in.
It was recently serviced and they said the boot handle/switch needs replaced so that is ordered and I hope that fixes it. If not I'll take the door card off and check whats going on. Closing the door with the key in the lock in the open position keeps the car from locking but it doesn't fix the problem.

First post on forum so hi guys...

I bought a 2013 C4 grand Picasso 1 month ago and the other day this issue cropped up also. So out of the blue when closing the passenger door all the doors would lock, key in or out of ignition made no difference,

I solved it thanks to a post in this thread and did so by locking the car with the fob, went to bed, got up the following morning and went straight to the passenger door and unlocked it with the key, not the fob, left the key in the lock and closed the door. This time the doors did not auto lock so I removed the key, opened and closed the door again and again no auto lock of the doors and issue is now resolved.

I also checked if closing the door latch mechanism manually (before resolving the issue) with door open would trigger the locks and it did.

Did you try locking and or unlocking using the key? Leave key in lock then open and close the door?

I'm not sure whether you fixed this, however, try using the actual key to unlock the driver's door or passenger door, I had the same issue when the passenger's door would shut it would lock all doors, I then randomly tried to use the key in the door and it unlocked the door and problem solved!!

I know the topic is old but I have the same problem and was wondering if any of you have the solution. I did try what was mentioned before but nothing helped. Any advice as to how to sort it out is welcome.

I have only just got my C4 GP and I closed my door and my doors all locked with my son in it... totally threw me... but my key doesn't seem to work properly even though they said they had replaced the battery and it was working. It has only happened the once today though, so not sure what's going on

Still trying to work out what's happening with this....

I try and unlock with either mine or my partners buttons on key and it doesn't unlock, or activate the lights; so then you unlock with key manually, and put key in ignition drive it down the road, then get out and try and lock/unlock and then key then works. You can switch lights on, lock and unlock with buttons on key.

I park up for a couple of hours go out and key doesn't work unless I manually use it in door... annoying.

Any ideas please?

And so to 2025. This problem still seems to be a mystery, although I appear to have solved it on my recently purchased car. A 2012 C4 Picasso that was locking all the doors and folding the mirrors when the front passenger door was closed. (Unless the key was in the ignition).

After trying the above advice which I am grateful for, I still had the problem. The solution that I stumbled upon was as follows:

With the offending door open, I used a screwdriver to rotate the door lock to the closed position. Sure enough all the other doors locked and the mirrors folded.

I then unlocked the car with the fob, but the open door remained locked. After a couple more attempts with the fob, I tried to unlock the open door with the key but it still remained locked. This was very stressful. Not least because I had stupidly attempted this research in a supermarket car park!

I had tried moving the lock mechanism with the screwdriver but it would not move. In desperation I opened the adjacent rear passenger door to look at which way the lock rotated. When I went back to the previously misbehaving and stuck locked door, it was unlocked!

I shut the previously bad front door, then the rear door and tested every combination of doors that I could. The problem has gone away. It is as if that door had simply become out of sync with the other three.

I hope that helps somebody. Good luck, but don’t try it in a supermarket car park.
