Hi. I have a 1.6 Citroen C4 Loeb and just had the inner arch out and noticed I am leaking power steering fluid bad. All the pipes are ok, I have tightened the allen bolts up but it is still leaking.

Does anyone know whether there is a 'O' ring seal inside or is it a whole complete unit? Thanks

Parts diagram only shows a complete pump. There are 2 options, 1 to be configured on fitting and 1 pre configured however from Citroen they aren't cheap at £520 from Citroen for the 'configured' one and that's the pump alone.

Do u need special oil for an electric power steering pump for a Citroen C4 or can u use normal oil?

Good question and I don't have an immediate answer, but it's highly unlikely to be engine oil and more likely to be a specialised power steering fluid.

I know it has to be power steering fluid (I'm not that stupid) but does it have to be specialist to a certain car as I've seen Citroen/Peugeot power steering fluid on eBay. So was wondering whether I would be just paying for the name or could I just buy standard fluid which would b cheaper!!

Car back on the road after the power steering pump had leaked fluid. Took it apart, put a new seal in it and put the specialised Citroen DA power steering fluid in and it's all working now!

Where did you get the seal from, the info may be useful for other members.

Hey sorry to dig up an old post, but would mind saying where you got the seal from? Currently going through the same problem with my C4 and would much rather pay for a new seal than a 520 quid pump! Cheers.
