Sure they were the right way round according to the diagrams. What way do the boot struts go, sure the canister is at the bottom on those as well. Can't check as I am currently driving a White C1 until tomorrow. I swear I am starting to like these little things. Part of me wants one now since they do a supercharger conversion that is cheap for them. Although the 107 is prettier at the front. |

So mine are the wrong way round, not like it will make much of a difference either way to be honest.

Gas struts should be installed with the canister at the top to keep the seals lubricated. A quick internet search will confirm this.

Collected mine from the post office today, aft what seems like a long wait. Maybe get a chance to fit before my holibobs, but will have to see. So, is it canister up or down? |

Very surprised by those instructions - every car I've had with bonnet gas struts (Pug 106, Rover 75, S-Type Jag, even my sister's Mini) have been fitted the other way around to that, with the cannister attached to the body and the rod attached to the bonnet. Same applies to the boot on these cars, as well as the struts on the boot lid of my C4 Hatch, where the cannisters attached to the car and the rods attached to the boot hatch.

Fitted mine today, and it was an easy job. I can confirm the right hand bottom bracket needs to be at an angle. I fitted it pinch tight and when closed the bracket swivelled to an angle, so just tightened it up. I decided to make a cut-out on the plastic cover by the radiator expansion bottle on the left. Bit of marking up, and a swift attack with the dremel. The bonnet got it's first try out by a pupil later, and he commented that it was much easier than fiddling about with the original bracket arm. |

How is shutting the bonnet? is it quite stiff to get it to the fully closed position or are the canisters quite loose as to allow easy closing, but enough to keep it up. looks like a tidy little mod! |

Can be a little stiff, but not too bad. Don't really notice it after a couple times.

Does anyone know where to find a kit like this for the C4 (B7)? Or whether the ones for <2010 works?
