Hi folks,

Just to say we picked up the new car on Saturday am and then headed down to Alton Towers for an overnight stop and then back up north (350 ish ) round trip. Very pleased with the car so far.

First time for us driving a diesel and on first impressions we didn't notice any 'extra' noise. Very smooth car - we had to concentrate on our speed as we found that it was very easy to go *substantially* over the limit with little effort. (And we're used to a 2.0 C8!) Only one incident of left footitis and that was in a car park.

Still got to find most of the bells and whistles.... More later but very pleased so far!

Don't worry, all those Speed Cameras on the M1 in Derbyshire only come on if the speed limit signs are lit

That's what I was told and I hope it's right otherwise I may be in trouble!

How does the C4GP compare to the C8? My wife is adamant she is going to in one of the rear boot seats in place of a child & I have concerns that on long journeys it will get very uncomfortable. The C8/807 appears to be more suitable for this.

I'd let her, just remember it was her idea.. (my eldest 17yrs had both rear pull up seats to herself all the way to Spain, sadly she refuses to come on non airline based holidays now

I have that issue with my daughter nowadays. We solve it by driving to and from Austria over 2 or 3 days each way. We (foolishly) pay for the tickets for her to fly from London to either Munich or Innsbruck, then either pick her up at the airport or she completes the journey by train. Mid you, it does avoid having to pay for 2 rooms at each overnight stop, so is reasonably cost-effective.
