Just took delivery of the above one week ago. Changed from a Volvo V70 as we needed the height in the boot for the wheelchair to get in instead of dismantling it and more height in the doors. We was going to get a Renault grand scenic but all of the old 2011 model we wanted had sold out. We were going to have another look at the Vauxhall Zafira again but did not like the front pillars blocking the view. On the way from the Renault garage to the Vauxhall garage we passed the Citroen garage. I had not looked at there website. I decided to stop and just see what they had in the showroom. I sat in the C4GP and could not believe how roomy it felt. When a salesman came over I asked him about the spec and price on motability. It had more or less the same spec as the Volvo V70 except auto headlights and auto wipers. The C4 has armrests and maximum speed control the Volvo did not have. It also had seats that fold flat not like the Renault which have to come out. We ordered one there and then after a short test drive. We ordered the manual has I do not like autos. We only waited a few weeks for delivery. I was wondering If we had done the right thing. Even on the day of exchange I did not want to part with the Volvo has it was so nice to drive. Anyway we exchanged cars and left the garage. Driving home I was thinking we had done the wrong thing, it banged and rattled on every bump. Over the next few days has the shocks pumped up it settled down and now it is smother and quieter then the Volvo. Today we have had a good run out and the speedo is reading just over 400 miles. The onboard fuel computer is reading 51.3mpg the most the Volvo read was 47mpg on a good day. I am now glad we did go for the C4GP and would advice anyone to look at them before buying any thing else. We did have a Ford galaxy 57 plate but from new it let us down so many times and so did the garage that serviced it so we will not touch another Ford. So far we have not had any faults. The only thing I would like is a variable speed on the intermittent wipers rather then the one speed. |

Nice initial write-up. Agree on the intermittent wiper - it's simply too quick except when it's raining hard enough to have the wipers on full time anyway! |
