Well the Black Loeb got back yesterday evening - a bit longer than originally anticipated however DVLA were up to their old tricks again with the V5 as it had a private plate on it. Here's a few pictures of it next to my Red Loeb: As mentioned previously unless it made a good impression on me I wouldn't be tempted. However, it has... I've decided to go for the Black Loeb as it's just got so many benefits over the Red Loeb that I currently have for a small difference in price. The Red Loeb is still a fantastic car and driving it again today demonstrated that - I still really do like the car. I've already sort of outlined the benefits such as the 1 Lady Owner, lower mileage, etc etc however what swung it for me was the engine. I mentioned that it's got the newer 1.6 16v engine and wow oh wow is it better! Noticeably quieter when cruising and idling however has much better power down low, and a much nicer induction sound too. The difference in performance is chalk and cheese. I wasn't sure about moving to the Black car however having seen it in the flesh and experienced it, I've made my mind up. I was in two minds about the interior, however I like it. The whole car just seems so much more modern... Went to ring the insurers up but their offices were closed earlier - have to sort it out next week... Anyone want to buy a C4 Loeb in Sport Red then...? |

JonM wrote ... Look great together Franklyn Personally i'd keep the red one But its each to their own Jon Thanks Jon - yep they compliment each other nicely! I must admit that before the Black car arrived I took was all for keeping the Red one. However I waited until I saw it and I think the engine swung it for me as it's just much nicer. When insurance is a bit more friendly I'd like to go for the THP 150... FakeConcern wrote ... What a difficult decision to make, they both look great! Any pics of the interior of the black one? Strangely enough I haven't! Here's one I found on Google - - Click Here - And one of the Pre-Facelift interior - - Click Here - Although not sure what's happened with the one above - shouldn't have that different gearknob? Unless it's a Diesel I suppose... The interior was one element that I was a bit sceptible about however seeing it in the flesh I don't mind. There is no leather however it doesn't really matter. The main 3D Mesh of the seats where you sit is Black however underneath is red, so gives a nice effect. The rev counter is relocated to the centre dashboard however that's no biggie - curves around in a circle which is better than just a line that it could have been. In my opinion everything just feels so much more modern, which I like. It's nice that it's got the Special Edition Plaque on the Centre Console too in front of the gearstick. Thinking about it, before the red one goes I'll have to do a sort of review on the pre-facelift Loeb and facelift Loeb - nice little piece for the CCC Mag... |

I sat in a facelift C4 a couple of months ago and quite liked it - the perceived quality seemed to be a little bit better than my 2005 C4.

I have to say that I really like the interior with black seats and red edges, probably more than the older red centre version. I'm not so keen on the decals on the doors of the new one though and I prefer the resolfen wheels (but only just!). When it comes to it I like the black more than red, even though red is always nice and my wife & one daughter both have red Clios. I have had 4 black cars (a 1275GT Mini, 2 XR3i Escorts & the current VTS), but I've never owned a red car.

Well I thought I'd update this thread because yesterday it moved onto pastures new. Amazingly, as mentioned at the beginning of this thread when I first got the car back in March last year, I got it from Scotland and the new owner is 20 minutes from the border! I don't think it could have gone to a better home, a really enthusiastic chap that's been looking for one for a few months now. As expected it made the journey back fine - I mentioned C4Owners so maybe we'll see him on here. Hopefully we will! Sad to see it go in one way, however it's gone to a good home and I've got the facelift Loeb now anyway! |

Good to see it go to an enthusiast, much better than having it hanging around not being used. This time of year can't be good for selling cars.
