Hi all. I am so glad I joined this group I have just won a set of genuine roof bars from E.Bay, and was confident of fitting them with ease.. I thought I would read up on fitting instructions (just in case they are not provided) and have seen the issues that some have had while fitting. I am lucky, in that I have all the tools, taps and replacement bolts that will be needed to fit them with no problems (hopefully). Thank you to those that have posted the how to's I will let you know how I get on when they arrive Now I must put my hand in my pocket and become a Premier member Gary. |

Well I fitted the bars today in about 20 mins. I tapped out the holesin the roof first with an M6 flat bottom tap and then cleaned the holes. Replaced the mild steel M6x20 bolts provided with S2 type and applied copper grease to the threads. All went well and thanks to the advice I found on the site, I fitted with no problems. I will post pics of my car up when I have had time to wash and polish. Gary. |
