Nightbreakers have a poor reputation for longevity in the Coupe and Hatch to it will be interesting to see if the "2nd Generation" are any better

Just an update on the 2nd generation osram nightbreaker bulbs, still going strong 5 months on, so seems like a good purchase, and very bright white light, were great in the dark winter nights, so cant complain for £12.49.

Hi,

They are very good and bright too, they have been in car now for almost 6 months and are still going strong, were great in the winter months, cant complain, great value.

I also bought a set of the new Osram Nightbreakers, they lasted 13 months in my C4GP, so not too bad? Definitely brighter than the standard bulbs.

They just blew this week, and I've been looking around at poss replacements.

I'm tempted by these new Philips Eco bulbs

I think you can get them even cheaper on the usual internet auction sites at around £14-£15

Anyone used them at all?

Hi All, Am about to change the bulbs on my C4GP so just been checking the manual. How do I know whether I have the Model with Halogen or the dual function Xenon? Manual says to look for the Danger symbol, however where will the symbol be? Mine is a 2008 Exclusive model?

Also keen to get the brightest lights i can. According to AutoExpress that would be the Philips X-tremeVision. Anyone have any thoughts on these?

Many Thanks

Dual function xenon will have headlamp washers. No washers? No xenons.

Just wondering why xenon headlights would need washers more than regular halogen

The strength of beam is significantly greater than halogen and this can be altered by muck and dirt to blind incoming traffic, hence the washers - its the same reason why self levelling is a legal requirement.
