Hi All, I have not long aquired a 1.6 C4 Picasso VTR+ with the 6 speed Auto / Manual gearbox, i dont know if its just me, but find when pulling away in 1st gear auto / man mode there is a very slight delay before the drive engages which causes a slight thud, also if i give a bit more rev to pull away, there is a slight judder, question is, is it me not used to this type of gearbox, or is there a problem, i bought it from a local dealer ( not Citroen ), i have booked it back in with the dealer to check it out, hope you dont mind me posting this, as i am a newbie.... Cheers in advance..Ian |

Hi Pedal Yeh sorry, its a 2007 model, its done 25.800mls, and has full Citroen service history, and no, its not jerky at all when slowing down into 1st, as said in my 1st post, it has a slight delay when engaging drive as i acelerate away which i can feel, and also if i pull away gently theres no shudder, but if a bit more gas is applied, there is a slight shudder, so hope this a bit clearer.. Cheers.....Ian |

anything else wrong with it? not short on power higher up/higher speeds? also have you had it long? maybe the EGS gearbox is still stuck in its pervious owners mode (it adapts to your driving style, if you drive slow and steady for a while, your'll notice it changes gears lower down the rev range, drive it like a bmw driver for a day and it will be reluctant to change gear til higher revs) could of course be your not used to it etc, if you give it alittle more gas, is it still the same? edit to add. Are the gear changes as smooth as a normal car, or dam near as close? may well be the clutch is just starting to get to the point were it needs adjusting (can only be done via computer, normal cars automatically self adjust, citroen should really offer a freebie adjustment at your last warranty service) |

It took me a while to get used to the EGS. Especially pulling away from a standing start. I reckon for about a half second delay when pulling into traffic eg roundabouts. If it shudders when cold, and believe me you would notice, but not when warm, then I would agree it would need a calibration. I still get moments a year on when reversing carefully into small gaps in the carpark, as you are using the accelerator to control the car, and not a clutch. That said, Mrs B is still surprised how small a gap I can parallel park into. She needs a bus stop!!! |

Hi, thanks for response, ive had it 2 weeks, apart from what ive said, the car is fantastic, just got hang of manual gear changes, really smooth through change ups ( learnt to lift foot off gas a tadge when changing gear ), the difference is fantastic, as you have said, it may be me just not used to it yet, so will give it a bit more time, will keep posting until then, once again, thanks for your help Cheers.....Ian |
