I have a 2006 1.6i VTR coupe. And for the past month I cannot turn on my radio/cd. The moment it goes on, the volume just keeps on rising. I turn it down, but it keeps on rising. Can anyone help me with this problem??

Auto volume increase is made via the 'speed pulse' connection in the quadlock on the rear of the radio, try disconnecting it and see what happens

Otherwise it sounds like a faulty radio

thanks c6 dave. I will try that.. But i must say.. It mainly starts happening after a jolt... Or if i just knock the steering wheel a little hard. Do you think it might be the audio controls on the steering wheel?

I don't know, but try some electrical switch cleaner spray on them (not WD40)

If you have Traffic Announcements enabled the volume is much higher and seperate to the normal volume.

Make sure that TA is off.

i will try both solutions that you suggested c6 dave. Just one more question... Do i need to unclip the audio controls on the steering wheel in order to spray... And if so.. How do you unclip them? Thank you again for your help.
