I will try and keep this as short as I can whilst detailing some key facts which may aid somebody with a any suggestions as to what I could try.

1, I have always felt that my C4 did not provide the expected torque output. It just didn't feel as though it was pulling hard enough

2, I had a very strange noise when I turned the engine off from the Turbo actuator. It made a loud whining noise whilst operating (as it powers up and down on shutdown)

3, I had Angel Tuning remap the car and was sadly very disappointed with the outcome. I had a very noticeable flatspot (in fact it was 2x small flatspots one after the other) at around 1800-2000Rpm. The map was changed for another but it made no difference. Unfortunately I was left with no alternative but to request it be put back to standard.
Nigel (who has been extremely helpful) informed me he had come across this problem only once before with another C4 and the same issue was resolved when the Turbo was replaced.

4, Car still under warranty I went to Citroen and had a number of problems rectified under the warranty. They updated the software in an attempt to improve the flatspot and whilst it has not disappeared completely it is slight better.
I also put to them about the turbo issue and asked them to look into it but they reported there were no reported error codes and the technician drove the car and said it was fine.

5, I checked the turbo actuator and oiled the linkage joint and whilst it did make the noise for a short while afterwards the noise has now completely disappeared.

I do not know any details about the boost control system on the C4. I do however have experience with boost control systems on other cars. Can anybody enlighten me to the boost control system components?

Having spoken to Nigel again from Angel tuning he still feels the problem lies with my turbo.

The obvious place to start would be measure the boost pressure under full load, just to see if the turbo is making full pressure, then perhaps do some leakage tests in case the pressurized air in the intake is escaping.

If anybody has any suggestions that I can try please feel free to say.

Just remembered that I also asked about changing the Fuel filter but Citroen assured me the current one on the car was fine.

From what you say and have tried, the only way to find out would be to fit a known working or new turbo…

Turbo boost is controlled by the ECU and is part of the Engine 'Map' as BJD says "the only way to find out would be to fit a known working or new turbo… or find a local turbo 'specialist' who can run the tests for you

Thanks John that is one way. However I am looking to explore any other methods that would not be so costly. Unless of course you have a spare fully working turbo laying around I could try?

These are my suggestions of things I need to check/test.

Variable guide vanes - Ensure they move freely through their full range
Actuator - Ensure moves full range and holds pressure
Any other electro mechanical boost control devices in the system

I can say that there are no leaks from the turbo and it does not burn any oil even under full load.

Any other idea's?

Check the EGR valve condition.

Well, for the benefit of anybody else who might ever had the same issue as I have had, it seems to be now resolved.

The leak to the 2x intercooler pipes (which showed up as the residual oil leak under the doseur valve assembly and on top of the alternator) and coupled with a possible leak from the turbo inlet hose rubber seal (The orange one) my flat spot has gone and the performance I always felt the car should have is back!!!

Really has made a big difference. I am very happy with the car now.
