Have been on this forum for a while now debating on whether or not I should buy a C4. Had a good luck at a few of them over the past few weeks, seen some good ones and some bad ones. Anyway went to a main dealer in Manchester and done a deal for a 2006 1.6 diesel, in Silver with 51,000 and FSH. Picking it up middle of next week as he is doing a couple of jobs on it for me. Mainly touching up a few scratches on the bodywork and replacing the NS indicator repeator lens under the wing mirror as it was cracked. The car came with £250 off marked price, full 12 months warranty and 12 months AA cover. Very pleased with all that. Will let you all know what its like when I pick it up maybe Wed/Thurs next week. |

Sounds good. Mine was the same age when I bought it a year ago, but with 61,000 on the clock. Apart from some minor issues, the car has been great.

Just an update on the car. Picked it up from Citroen, Manchester (the one next to the Stratstone-Ferrari garage), the one next to all the uni's. All is well with the car. Drives very nice indeed. On the way home to Widnes the car was doing well over 60 mpg, very impressed. thought it was also very quiet for a diesel. Only had the car a few days now but overall its very good. The only thing I will say is that on the way home I found out the cruise control was not working. The speed limiter side of the system does work but not the control side. Phoned them straight away when I got home and its going back in on Friday to be sorted. Forgot to mention as well as what I said I got with the car (warranty, AA etc) they also done a few jobs as part of the sale. They even give me a copy of the work that was done. They changed the oil and filter, they changed the front discs and pads and they also gave the car a GARD-X paint protection system, which is guarrenteed for 8yrs. So all in all I think I got a good deal from them. Will post some pics this week, see what you all think. |

For cruise control to work it needs to be in 4th or 5th and above a certain speed. When you switch to it press the + button and it will turn it on. Not the same as the limiter to turn on.

What happened was this. I tried the limiter and that worked ok. Tried the Cruise control on the motorway and nothing. Then got a message on the LCD display where the radio display is saying "Info- speed control faulty" Told the garage that when I got home and thats why its going back in on Friday. |

Probably a dirty switch on the steering wheel as the speed limiter works. |

Just going to point out as the way you worded it not sure you realise this. But the warranty on the car applies at any citroen dealer in the country. It's a proper 12 month citroen warranty you get for use in any dealer. As I certainly wouldn't make the trip to take it to Citroen Manchester. My experiences there put me off big time. BCC bury is who I use now who have a good reputation on various forums. |

You are right in that the warranty is for any dealer in the country, but as I bought it from them I will give them this chance to put it right. Seems fair. After that I will be taking it to my local dealer in St.Helens.

Took the car to Manchester today. Was there for about 2 hours and came away not fixed. In fairness to them, they did do a few mods to the system, but as my appointment was a waiting appointment they have arranged for me to go back in 2 weeks. They will have the car for 2 days and I get a courtesy car for the duration of that time.
