Hi all! This topic seems to be missing in this forum. What kind of "a bull is C4GP in front of cargo"? I have C4GP 2.0 HDi (138hp) EGP (BMP) year 2007. 57 000 miles. It is allowed to pull 1500 kg trailer with brakes. Well, I have a confession to make: C4GP is capable of more than that (yes, unlegal it is). I started with my previous Caravan Solifer Artic 450 (Total Weight 900 kg). The car loaded with family and their vacation stuff, it was very light to go. Year 2009 I changed the caravan to Adria 613 PK skandinavian edition (with own weight of 1430 kg and maximum load 1700 kg). I weighted it once and there was a little bit over weight; 1520 kg with "summer gear" (empty water tanks of course). It is still amasing how strong this car is. This combination moves quite easily with other trafic and I even dare to overtake trucks! I know - and feel - there is less torque in this model than other same size cars. When pulling the caravan it's always important to drive moderately. I use only manual mode to give more rmp to the motor. You know, EGP use to change gears too early and this wears the clutch. I never use the 6th gear to avoid breaking gearbox. Braking is very soft and easy; thanks to the sensitive disk brakes! I also use braking with motor long before intersection or stop. I think there is only one trouble when pulling; the parking. I almost burned the clutch when I tried to park the caravan for the first time. The clutch gets jumpy and shaky when the double mass wheel tries to find suitable amount of sliding and torque when fixing the load backwards upphill or soft grounds. Driving and adjusting forward is OK but backwards is always hard, so I have learned to reverse only once and correctly. The consumption seems moderate; on my calculations driving ca 80 km/h takes 10.8-11.2 litres per 100 km (on summertime). In windy conditions this combination goes very steadily. I also like the pneumatic rear suspension: It gets very robust to hold this load steady - and of course people gets curious when I'm adjusting the rear when hooking the caravan in camping areas I have travelled several thousand kilometers around Finland during 2 summers. I have 4 kids and they love travelling this car (most of the time). The car has space and its great windows gives exceptional vision and sights. You can entertain kids with multimedia when long travelling gets boring. I cannot think other cars when camping around. All I hope in the future to have this car with more capacity of pulling weight (the legal one). The car has worked just fine. Last summer I had to change front upper wishbones, when I noticed the car was steering slightly to the right (the left wishbone was totally worn). And now when writing you guys, my car has this rear pneumatic airbag problem (You know, 3 years has passed even with occassionally heavy load). I'm waiting my backorder to arrive - in the mean time I have to suffer driving my wifes VW Golf! !! |

Here's a couple of shots from our "camp" in Iso-Syöte -ski center autumn 2010 Notice the rear end of the car: It is easier to unload the skibox when rear down! |

For some reason parts cost an awful lot more in Scandinavia and Australia (as well as other countries) than the UK, especially as you say, with the Premier Member discounts.

Yeah! Everyone wants its share, I shall say. 5102R8 bags: 317 outrageous euros each + freight 5102GN bags: 177 e each + freight and PM price at [Dealer 1] 5102GN Both Bags! TOTAL 152,40 E INCL. freight. So: Somebody's getting 'fat' in Finnish dealing organisation. I gave my 'regards' to those rogues already. Citroen's part prices are moderate or even cheap in the GB as the parts are ORIGINAL you know. |

Yes, neilos, i've paid the price like 2 in 1! The part numbers are exactly same but prices are double (or more) here in Finland.

Hi fellas!! This goes a little off topic, but maybe Dave or some other admin will move this under correct thread. I have to tell You guys, yesterday was my happy day. Finally I got these air suspension bags changed. It was done by local Citroen service. It took about 45 min. The mechanic said that changing these "springs" is the most easiest spring - assembling in the world, and I consider the same. The car up, Lexia in and pressure off. The bags wrinkled inwards so they popped off when turning the bag carefully. Then press and pull the pressure pipe and voila' it is done. Then assembly new ones. Lexia orders pressure one by one and asks to check whether the bags sit straight. Then car down and pressurize the bags normally. Of course during assembly, battery was disconnected. Citroen service estimates 0,5 hours per bag. Cleaning ice and dirt took most of the assembling time. In my opinion this is very easy job but you cannot do this without Lexia. At least the Lexia deletes the fault codes so that the compressor will able to run again. I also checked the old bags. They were fractured like very old rubber boots! Both of them so soon the other one would have get bursted too! This whole assemly in Finland took 70 euros, not bad at all I think. |

NIce.... I had a look at the spring they took off my car earlier this week. The rubber had simply perished and was full of little tiny cracks....a bit like an old bicycle tyre in fact. I'm guessing the new ones are made with a less perishable compound...... |

Looks great - I am thinking of taking up shed-pulling in a few years time when FB Junior hits school age - it won't be as big as that one mind with a gross towing weight of 1300kg! Probably go for an older Adria shed, or possibly a Sprite Continental. I assume fitting an OEM towbar and double electrics will need a remortgage so a fixed bar from whitter et-al will be more likely. |

Hi Adria is a very good choice! I know nothing about towbar assembling, because I ordered my C4GP with towbar. Caravan travelling is a very good hobby and it unites family when children are small. Jami Julius |
