Hi all the rear loom on my VTS failed and was bodged by the garage who sold it to me. The new loom was on order and was due to arrive on the 9th of December. Well that date has been and gone. My local stealers Tates said the date has been put back to 30th of December and they gratis repaired the loom (temp fix).

They fit the new loom when it arrives, according to the parts/service manager the part is being revised and will be different.

Also a technition there Tim said that the original were fitted incorrectly using the pull through fixing making the loom far too tight, leading to premature failure.

So your saying that you have been told that the rear loom is being revised in an effort to overcome the problems of chafing and broken wires?

That's almost as if someone at Citroen has admitted a manufacture fault and maybe even should have been a recall? What year is you VTS Mark?

Mark, is the VTS a coupe.

I have a problem with the wiring on the hatch (of the hatchback). Too cold/dark to investigate further at this stage but looks to be caused by wiring "cross talk".

regards
G

VTS only came as a Coupe G, the equivalent spec on a hatch is 'Exclusive'

Not alway the case unfortunatly.

The 1.8 Ford Zetec timing belt tensioners used to let go early in life potentially destroying the engine.

If you were unfotunate enough to have one go then you could buy the modified tensioner kit, and pay to have the rest of the engine rebuilt.

Recalls are usually based around safety.
