Hi all. Looking to lower an 06 VTR+. Can't decide on what height level, 30-25 doesn't look that much different, but looking online I can't seem to find sportline kits anyway, are they discontinued? Also how much are things improved with changing the shocks too? It seems from the posts I've seen it's not particularly necessary? | ||||

You need to get the kit for the Pug 307. They share the same platform so parts are for the most part interchangeable. Like my coilovers are actually listed for the 307,308 and C4. Same kit approved for all three cars and all the versions of them. Link here for them, can be had cheaper elsewhere I believe. - Click Here - |

On standard shocks the car performs exact same cushion style on flat roads, bumpy roads are a tiny bit more harder and speedbumps I go over slow anyway. The main bonus is that cos they're progressively sprung (tight at top and bottom, normal in middle) they do firm up for corners. Obviously not as flat as coilovers, but a much much better improvement for under half the price of [%*^#@!] coils |

Thanks for the replies Darren and Wozza. Great that the 307 springs are lower just because i don't think the Eibach's go low enough these days. It's weird that a coilover kit is less money than the B12 kit?!? I know the B14 is less money these days but it's still a good wedge, i just can't decide as i need to replace the rear shocks anyway so do i go that bit more and go coils or just replace standard rear shocks and sportline springs all round. It's hard to gauge the drop from the pics in the op as there all different models, and i don't just want looks, the boatyness needs to go too . | ||||

B12 kits are good if you want fit and forget and don't fancy the extra maintanence coilovers add. Koni have a few shocks as well that could be used. | ||||

Will the sport line kit fit VTS HDI. I have found two prokits for the C4, one for 1.4, 1.6 and another for the larger engines and automatics. Is the reason for this being that the larger engine variants sit lower but still share same suspension components. The sportline kit covers all variants of the 307 Which makes me doubt the fitment claims since there are two for the C4 |

@plymouthmad i agree about the slammed look and Ham's looks mint (mines same colour) except Ham's is a VTS thus lower anyway, mine wouldn't sit like that with the same kit. @Wozza What maintenence do coilovers add? Do the B12's give a more "standard" ride? |

The 307 is actually heavier than the C4 so could be one of the reasons. However the difference between pro and sport are just the ride height. They are similar spring rates. VTS spec cars sit lower and have stiffer suspension as standard. Which is probably the reason for the two types. Likely stiffer spring on the 2.0 versions, which probably has a similar rate to the 50mm spring. Plenty of people have put the 50mm 307 springs on though. |

Yeah i was thinking coils or 307 springs. Guessing that'll be 40 f - 30 r or something on a C4? What maintenence did you mean with regard to coilovers? p.s The colour of yours Wozza is awesome, mrs loves it too. |

307 springs will be 50 front, 25/30 rear. It wouldn't surprise me if the rear springs are the same in all of the kits to be honest. The rear of the car is pretty much the same on every model in terms of whats over the axle with weight etc. You can fit and forget coilovers, the problem is that without proper periodic cleaning and regreasing the threads they can sieze and rust. This is especially true on cheaper coilovers. So ideally they need to be properly cleaned every 2 - 3 months and have the adjusters moved to keep it all nice and in good condition. Quick spray of WD40 on the threads after a wash helps wonders too. About the colour, it looks so much better in the metal. Really does not photograph well. Quite rare in this colour here too, always wanted a yellow 180 though. So finally got one 3 years ago after getting rid of my Red VTR+. |
