Hi John,

You staying in the Dornie Hotel?? We stayed about a mile further up the road on Loch Long, in Bundalloch, when we wnt in May. Some great restaurants in Plockton if you like fish and hope you got some decent pics of Eilean Donan(difficult not to!!)

Enjoy!!

Errr… I never took a photo of it, even though it was on the doorstep! We did intend to have a look around, but the car park was full with tourists.

We stayed at a DIY B&B in the old School House which was first class. It had converted to the highest standard. - Click Here -

The fact that Mary, the owner, had an (Arnold Clark) Oriental Blue petrol SX was competely coincidental, but demonstrated the essential good taste and style demanded by us discerning Citroënistes

We ate next door in the Clachan. Not fantastic, but solid with great cask ale. - Click Here -

What a lovely day! (It was raining as we passed by…)

We eventually drove to Dunnet Head - spot the lighthouse!!

I'm getting my new dipstick fitted under warranty on Friday. I've got around to it at last.

Meet the new dipstick - same as the old dipstick.

I hope this one doesn't break.

The broken one

It was all very painless at Chester Caledonia. No question about it being a warranty job. Seems they've done this job a couple of times this week alone. I was just settling down to a Cappuccino and the paper, when the receptionist gave me my key saying it was done. I suppose it's only a matter of pulling out the old one and shoving in the new one. I was told not to worry about the bit that fell off.

I thought they were being replaced with a new type BJD?

That looks like od stock which might fail again

My thoughts exactly.

I wondering if I've been given one from another 110HDi, though it did look new.

The route taken by the dipstick guide sleeve is incredibly convoluted. I guess that it would be need to be changed to accept a conventional mild steel dipstick. And that wouldn't be a quick job.

Assuming the 6 or 7 cm that falls off into the sump does no damage, then it's cheaper for Citroën to hand out new bits of plastic every couple of years…

Even so, two bits of plastic lodged in your filter could reduce flow rate....

The problem is well known by dealers and they give you a replacement free of charge.

Hi,
my dipstick is broken. Does anyone knows the reference of a metallic one? I don't want to put another in plastic again, it brakes easily. I saw 2 types of metallic dipstick in the page 2 of this thread, like this one - Click Here - and this other one - Click Here -

I would like to know the reference and the price if anyone knows.
Thx

I think you'll find those dipsticks are not for the 110HDi engine.

The route of the 110HDi dipstick to the sump is not straight, hence the plastic dipstick.

Ok, it can be in plastic but at least I want one more resistant at the end. this one was very weak.
